Mike Hale
from The New York Times, in his review of “The Fosters” offered a positive
review, saying that “The Foster” is a family dramedy TV Show. “The Foster” is a
family show that come on ABC Family it’s based on two gay women that adopt kids
that need a home, with the exception of one he is the real son of one of the
mothers. Hale gives a positive review on “The Fosters.” For example, he says
“The Fosters” is a conventional family dramedy, I agree with him that the show
is based on comedy of a family but also there is drama. In the show lesbian
mothers adopted Hispanic twins and a foster daughter fresh out of juvie, who
will give a lot of problems throughout the show. The conflicts and crises are
handled with mostly light touch and sometimes with that approaches sharp humor.
In addition, in the show “Teri Polo” as the divorced police officer, named
“Stef Foster” does tough but caring with panache and is gracefully funny in
scenes that could easily go wrong. In a lot of scenes her biological son gets
in trouble just like the daughter that got out of juvie and Stef their mom has
a little sarcasm when she goes about solving the problem. In addition, “The
Fosters” also cannily incorporates features of the crime drama, a tense and
surprisingly touching sequence involves Foster and her ex-husband, also a
police officer, unexpectedly drawing their guns for an impromptu rescue. During
the show it does show a lot of crimes that happen due to the foster daughter
that just got out of juvie, because of her are all the crimes which I consider
dramatic. This show is full of drama all throughout the seasons, because in a
family somehow there is drama but also comedy. Finally, Mike Hale says “to it’s
credit, the show, created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige, treats this not
as a teachable moment but as a comic beat.” The police officer mom, who hasn’t met
the new addition to the family, asks her partner, “And who’s this?” Then after
this they cut it and then a commercial which is a comic beat. Overall Mike Hall
from The New York Times, in his review of “The Fosters” gives a positive
review, giving examples of why the show is dramedy in positive ways. He also
explains the TV show and what happens in order to get his point. The TV show is
based on a family, two gay couple adopt foster kids and have one biological
son. My point of view of this TV show its pretty good and intense, I would really
recommend this show. Once you start watching it you won’t be able to wait for
the next episode or even season to come on. It does teach you and the families
a lesson, I really loved this show.
I have friends that watch this show and also recommend it, I might have to watch it!
ReplyDeleteI lovvvve The Fosters! My favorite cast member has to be Callie (Maia Mitchell) she role she has is very leading for women and adoption kids who have been through rough homes. I really enjoy all the drama it has, it was a very well written show. Im sad that it is now ended.
ReplyDeleteTeri Polo was in MEET THE PARENTS with Ben Stiller, which I highly recommend. A family dramedy televisions show? Eh, give me ROSEANNE!
